The re:generations sustainability program offered by ADM has been rapidly growing across the United States, now covering 4.7 million acres across 24 states. Paul Scheetz, Director of Climate Smart Agriculture Origination at ADM, shares that the program focuses on eight different crops: corn, soy, wheat, canola, edible beans, sorghum, peanuts, and cotton.

“It comes with incentives, and usually two different types. One’s either specific practices—planting a cover crop or doing no-till or strip-till—or for our programs, sometimes it’s outcomes,” shares Scheetz. “It will give you a benchmark of what normal carbon intensity scores may be for corn or soybeans in your area. If you beat it, you get a premium on the grain that you ultimately deliver to us. And those practice payments are usually a per-acre payment.”

Enrollment for the re:generations program takes place June through September.
