The Monmouth-Roseville Board of Education has approved the school calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year. Superintendent Ed Fletcher explains the process on how that calendar is selected:

“The process for Monmouth-Roseville is we have a calendar committee made up of staff members, administrators, and board members. We look at possible calendars with the goal of getting two competing calendars, sometimes it is three competing calendars, to our staff to vote on. We have done that, and they have voted on a calendar with the start of our school in August of 2026 being August 17th and 18th with teacher institutes. Then it is a lot of the regular days of Veteran’s Days, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. A unique thing for this upcoming year is from March 22nd through the 26th, we will actually have a full week spring break.”

Meanwhile, the Illinois State Board of Education has released their 2025 Report Cards of the local school districts. Superintendent Fletcher shares Monmouth-Roseville received exemplary designations for each of their buildings, meaning they are ranked in the top ten percent of schools statewide, showing high achievement in test scores, growth, and graduation rates.
