With harvest coming more to a close, make sure to check your conservation plan for highly erodible land to see what tillage or no tillage can be done. District Conservationist Cathy Froelich has more:
“If it is an old plan, or even if you cannot find it, come in and talk to one of our staff members in one of the three offices. It is good to update those things. When you are out and seeing erosion, need to seed down an area to grass or create a waterway or something, we have EQUIP. That rule is coming out here within the next month. Once the rules are released, then we will be able to have sign ups, cutoffs, and do some funding. If you need some financial assistance, come in and see us,” Froelich reports.
If you are spot checked and erosion is discovered, it will be considered out of compliance.
