Lila Jean (Lozier) Fayhee, 92, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 7:54 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Legacy Estates of Monmouth.

Lila was born on July 12, 1927 near Raritan, IL at home, the daughter of Eschol and Mabel (Vandoren) Houtchens.  She was raised and educated in the Raritan area and graduated from Media High School in 1945. 

She married Robert B. Lozier on March 9, 1946 in St. Augustine, IL; he preceded her in death on March 16, 1983.  Lila later married Donald Fayhee on July 14, 1984 in Monmouth, IL; he preceded her in death on July 29, 1995. 

Lila worked for 12 years at the Raritan State Bank.  She also worked on the farm for many years.  Lila moved to Monmouth in 1976 and worked at Martha Brown and drove a school bus for Warren School.  Lila was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and served on the Altar and Rosary Society; volunteered at Prairie City Nursing Home and Monmouth Hospital.  She was a member of the home extension and the D.D.D. club.  Lila enjoyed reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.  She loved the Chicago Cubs, especially Anthony Rizzo.  Lila was an excellent baker, especially her chocolate chip cookies.    

Surviving Lila are two sons, Wendall “Gene” (Chris) Lozier of Peoria, AZ, John (Debbie) Lozier of Monmouth, IL; son-in-law, James D. Paris of Kirkwood, IL; ten grandchildren, Julie (Mark) McVey of Monmouth, IL, JoAnne (Dan) Allison of Wildwood, MO , Jera (Phil) Cofield of St. Charles, MO, Dustin Tippett of Jesup, IA, Liza (Ben) Edwards of Kansas City, MO, Abby Lozier of Davenport, IA, Sam (Erin) Lozier of Rockhill, SC., Marissa (Jimmy) Casteel of Monmouth, IL, Doug (Teresa) Lozier of Monmouth, IL, and Drew (Taylor) Lozier of Monmouth, IL.  Also surviving are twenty-one great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter, Janet Paris, and brother, Wendell Houtchens.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.   Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Church, ICS, or Western IL Animal Rescue.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
