Dale Raymond Cole, 75, of Monmouth, Illinois, died at 4:35 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020, with family by his side.
He was born July 15, 1945, in Venice, Florida, the son of Raymond L. and Aldene Mary (Fahnstrom) Cole. He married Dixie L. Williams in 1966, in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dixie; two children, Shelley (Bob) Peel of Little York, Illinois and Michael Cole of Shawnee, Kansas; four grandchildren, Tanner McGeehon, Corey Cole, Cody Peel, and Madison Peel; two brothers, Eugene (Teresa) Cole of Blue Springs, Missouri and Larry (Rowena) Cole of Bates City, Missouri; a sister, Edith (Don) Hunter of Lees Summit, Missouri; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Herbert Cole.
Dale worked for Maytag Corporation in Galesburg for 30 years, retiring in November of 1993. He had lived in Galesburg, Illinois, Warsaw, Missouri, and Monmouth. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963.
Dale was a member of the Community of Christ. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, custom cars, motorcycles, camping, sports, and spending time with his family.
Dale was a veteran of the United States Army.
Cremation will be accorded. Private family graveside with military honors will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
