Marcia K. Conner, 83 of Abingdon, passed away at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center in Galesburg.

  She was born September 2, 1937 in Abingdon, the daughter of John R. “Jeff” and Lillian A. (Rodger) Lawson.  She married Charles Rodney Conner on September 2, 1955 at the Abingdon Christian Church.  He preceded her in death in June of 1982.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Maxine, a young brother, Buddy, an adult brother, William “Moe” Lawson, a stepbrother, Butch Lawson, and a special sister-in-law, Ruth Nordgren.

  Marcia is survived by two sons, Mike (Pauline) Conner of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Chuck Conner of Abingdon; three grandsons, Justin (Lisa) Conner and Jacob Conner, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Joey (Sarah) Conner of Williamsville, Illinois, and six great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews and their families.

  She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955.  She has lived in the Abingdon and Galesburg areas all her life.  She worked at the old Lake Bracken Clubhouse, Little King Restaurant in Galesburg and most recently at Derby Manufacturing in Galesburg.  Her hobbies including golfing and later in life, watching TV.  She loved her cats and enjoyed time with family.

  As she requested, cremation will be accorded.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, private services will be held Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Those wishing to attend the service “virtually” may watch the live broadcast at 10 a.m. Monday on the funeral home’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Hinchliff-Pearson-West-Funeral-Directors-and-Cremation-Services-160333664037824.  Private burial of her ashes will be next to her husband at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
