Mrs. Mary Shaw, 91, of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:06 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2021, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg

She was born November 12, 1929 in Conway, Arkansas, to John and Georgia (Helton) Harrison.  She married James P. Churn.  She later married Henry L. Shaw. 

She is survived by four sons, Grayling Churn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Arnet Churn of Portland, Oregon, Melvin G Churn of Galesburg, and Thomas J. Churn of Vancouver, Washington; a daughter, Marie A. Churn of Galesburg; three sisters, Hester Maltbia of Kansas City, Missouri, Oreanda Tyler of Galesburg, and Betty White of Galesburg; a special granddaughter, Mika R. Churn of Little Rock, Arkansas, whom she raised; fourteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Benjamin Harrison and Otis Mason Jr.; and two sisters, Ruby (surviving husband Johnny) Davis and Wanda Reading

Mary was a member of the Galesburg Travelers in her younger years.  She was an active member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Galesburg.  She loved the Chicago Cubs, fishing, and playing cards.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2021 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Kemp Jones will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New Home Missionary Baptist Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
