Jennifer L. Burton, age 53, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at her home on Wednesday August 18, 2021 surrounded by her family. Jennifer was born on March 15, 1968 in Galesburg, Illinois and is the daughter of Larry Gene Walker and Kathleen Ann Guenther. She was raised in Oquawka where she attended local schools and graduated from Union High School with the class of 1986. She then attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. Jennifer married Edward Alonzo “Eddie B” Burton on July 2, 1988 in Monmouth and he is surviving. Jennifer began work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg for several years. She then was employed by Western Illinois Home Health for the next several years. Lastly she worked as a nurse at Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth and then OSF Holy Family Medical Center where she attained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Aspen College and has worked there until the present. She has been a member of the Warren County YMCA for many years and the Taylorville Eagles Club. Jennifer enjoyed the game of golf, was an avid reader, loved to garden, was an die hard Chicago Bears fan, traveling, going to the beach and enjoyed a nice glass of wine. She also often helped Eddie B on Friday at their Lunch tent in Monmouth. She most of all loved her family and grandson, Jermaine Alonzo Baylis. 
Surviving her is her husband, Eddie B of Monmouth, Illinois, and her daughter Jaleesa Baylis (Vincent) of Laveen, Arizona, her grandson, Jermaine Baylis of Laveen, Arizona, her mother Kathy Cooper of Monmouth, Illinois, her father Larry Walker of Speer, Illinois. There are two brothers, Bill Walker (Jenni) of Washington, Illinois and James Walker (Beth) of Streator, Illinois, and her step mother, Barbara Walker (Larry)  of  Speer,Illinois
She is preceded in her death by her grandparents, mother in law Adeline Burton,  one sister Diana Walker, step father, Mitch Cooper, and a number of Aunts and Uncles. 

A memorial service for Jennifer is planned on Saturday August 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family plans to be at the funeral home to receive their friends wearing their Jerseys from 10:00 am to 11:00, the hour prior to the service. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial funds are being established for Relay for Life.
