Robert Lee Richardson (Robbie Lee as his family called him, Bob as some knew him, and nicknamed “Barney” after Barney O’ Field a local racecar driver.) Of Stronghurst passed away on November 18, 2021 at 4:35am in his home. He was born on April 2, 1932 in Roseville the son of Elbert Anderson and Christa Lee (Carter) Richardson. Robbie Lee married Donna L. Thomas on February 15, 1969. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2015.
He is survived by his children; Sandy (Jeff) Ewing, Jeanne Whittemore (Tim Gyovai) Jeanne’s fiancé and Barney’s son for the past two years. Grandchildren; Keri McKay, Robert McKay, Malissa McKay, Christa Whittemore (C.C.) and Becca Whittemore. Sister in law Barb Richardson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings; Elbert (Helen) Richardson, Jr. (Buck), Margaret (Sissy), (Earl) Spry, Francis (Peg), (Don) Dochtorman, William (Billy), (Ex-wife Ruby), Lewis D. (Deanie) Richardson. Grandchild; Kim Walters.
Barney served in the US Army for 9 years during the Korean War. After the war he owned the Gas station in Raritan. Barney owned car lots in Roseville, Monmouth and Yates City. He and his wife also owned and operated Roseville Restaurant for 8 years. Barney also drove for Mechum Trucking and Munson Transportation. After he retired, he and his wife owned and operated Donna’s Lunch Wagon.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:00pm in Ellison Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Henderson County Health Department and Hospice. Online condolence may be made at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville is in charge of the arrangements.
