Annual Fly-In Breakfast at the Monmouth Municipal Airport is Back This Fourth of July

Share

The Monmouth Fly-In Breakfast is back this Monday, July 4th from 7 to 10 am at the new Monmouth Municipal Airport hangar. All for a freewill donation, pancakes and sausage will be served, the Monmouth Municipal Band will begin playing at 8:30, and planes will be flying in. With the new location of the hangar, Flying Club President Jared Kunkle explains the parking situation:

“As the new hangar is now on the west side of the airport instead of the east, parking wise, you will come in like you are going to Fareway and take that frontage road. The frontage road will lead you to the airport. Hirschbach Trucking has been gracious to let us use their lot near the airport for parking purposes. Jet Air is allowing us to use their golf cart that I think seats six to eight people and so if you feel like you can’t walk that far and needed a ride, there is going to be somebody cruising around in that golf cart to bring you in, but it is just a short little walk from the Hirschbach lot to the new hangar. It will give you a chance to check out the new hangars. We are looking forward to moving the plane form Galesburg back to Monmouth. It should be a nice day and a good turnout.”

The Monmouth Flying Club has been around since 1966.
