Health experts are worried that the U.S. might wind up facing what they call a “tripledemic” outbreak of flu, COVID-19, and the virus known RSV at the same time. Doctors already were worried about both flu and COVID-19 surging going into fall and winter but now they’re seeing an early rise in RSV among young children. The CDC says respiratory illnesses are appearing earlier, and in more people, than in recent years. The federal health agency says there have been early increases in flu cases across most of the U.S. with indications that flu could be a lot more severe this season than in the past two.
