Monmouth-Roseville Boys Basketball Opens Up Season With Win Over Ridgewood.

The Monmouth-Roseville varsity boys basketball squad opened up regular season play on Monday night against the Spartans of Ridgewood high school at the Orion Tip-Off Classic. Ridgewood came out swinging after the opening tip, capturing a 7-2 lead in the beginning of the first quarter, after that it was all Titans as M-R cruised to the 55-37 win.

Monmouth-Roseville would go on a 25-11 stretch the rest of the first half, going into the break with a 27-18 advantage. The Titans would double the Spartans scoring in the third quarter, outscoring Ridgewood 24-12. In the final 8 minutes of, Ridgewood closed the gap slightly, however M-R finished with the 59-37 win.

Leading the scoring for the Titans was guard Jerome Jackson with 13, and Nick Lewis-Bresnahan and Nico Avendano added 9 as well. 11 players scored for Monmouth-Roseville overall. The Titans resume Orion Tip-Off Classic play against the host team Orion Chargers on Wednesday night with tip-off at 7:00 PM.
