U of I Drops Sex Assault Investigation Into Terrence Shannon Jr

Share

The University of Illinois is dropping its investigation into rape allegations against basketball player Terrence Shannon Jr.  The university said it closed the probe due to insufficient evidence that the Chicago native violated the school’s student code.  The first-team All-Big Ten selection was charged with rape after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman while attending a football game in September in Lawrence, Kansas.  Shannon has denied the allegations.  A preliminary hearing in his Kansas criminal case is scheduled for May 10th.
