The Abingdon-Avon High School Football Coach, Rick Quinn expressed his excitement for the 2019 football season.

In 2018, the Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes faced their toughest season in recent history, facing four undefeated teams for each of their home games, the Tornadoes came to love away games due to a brutal home game schedule.

The team’s first game of the year is this Friday, and Coach Quinn shared his thoughts on how the first game might go…

“The name of the game is tackling and blocking and taking care of the ball, and responding to mistakes. There’s gonna be mistakes, there’s probably 115 plays in the game. It’s all about bouncing back from that mistake, and if you have each others backs.”

Quinn expressed his renewed optimism for the new year, saying it could be as simple as doing things more efficiently, with a more level head, and he is hopeful that the Tornadoes will get to the playoffs this year, with a large returning senior class, and a more balanced team composition.
