Former Cambridge High School graduate and Monmouth College basketball and football player Craig Anderson, now the Executive Director of the Illinois High School Association stresses the importance of the IHSAs new regulations in sports.

The IHSA has announced a change to the way coaches handle sports practices, including rules that would make it so athletes could play no more than two games in a week, with no two games on the same day, or any games played on consecutive days.

These regulations would ensure that athletes are able to recuperate before games, potentially leading to fewer injuries.

Craig Anderson goes on to talk about the new regulations reception amongst coaches in Illinois…

“Our coaches have adopted to these changes. This preseason time is a time at which, you know, they have that time to work on technique and teach that tackling so that when they do it live and in a game we’re gonna prevent injuries.”
