Harvest Bible Chapel Hosting Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Share

Harvest Bible Chapel are hosting a Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 28 at the American Legion in Monmouth.

The menu will be a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Carryout and delivery options will be available.

Mary Dakin of Harvest Bible Chapel tells us how, and why, the Community Dinner began:

“I’ve read back through some of the archives, and Larry and Sue Helum I believe were the first couple from the Monmouth Area – they’ve now moved away, several years ago they moved away – it was kind of their vision, that this was something they wanted to do to help those who didn’t have the opportunity to have a traditional meal on Thanksgiving or maybe someone who is alone.

Someone who has the means to do it, but just wants to have a friendly face to sit with and have a nice meal with.”

Serving for the Community Dinner will start at noon Thursday.
