Carol K. Curry, age 69, of Galesburg, Illinois, died on December 13, 2019 at her home in Galesburg.

She was born on September 22, 1950 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Pete and Blanche (Newell) Kempher.  She was reared and educated in southern Illinois and Missouri, and later attended Carl Sandburg College.  She was married to Dennis Schwabe, and they later divorced.  Carol was then married to Francis Curry.

Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her loving children: Rodger Schwabe of Earlham, Iowa, Amanda Schwabe of Knoxville, Illinois; three grandchildren: Heather Schwabe of Canton, Illinois, Sebastian Schwabe of Knoxville, Miranda Nalley of Knoxville; three great-grandchildren: Liam Schwabe, Macy Dugan, Octavia Dugan; two siblings: Gary (and Lois) Kempher of Camarillo, California, Evelyn Bartolini of Seaside, California; and her beloved dog, Bella.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Patrick Emery; and her husband, Francis Curry.

Carol was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  There was nothing that she enjoyed more than spending quality time with her loved ones.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
