A big transition is coming to the United School District as Junior High Principal Chris Schwarz will be moving to the High School to fill retiring Amy Schmitz’s position. The 2020-2021 school year will be Schmitz’s final year with the district and will be used as the transition year. The district is actively interviewing for the Junior High Principal position to allow for a smoother transition in leadership. Schwarz is excited about the upcoming transition:
“Change is hard and I think anytime we can provide a smoother transition with change, especially with building leadership, the better it is going to be for staff, students, and also for parents in the community. We are really excited to get someone in the Junior High that is going to continue to move that building forward. I’m also excited to work with someone as well. I would say sometimes being a building administrator, especially if you are the only administrator in the building, you are working in isolation and so it will be nice to have someone kind of a team member so to speak to bounce ideas off of, but also to work with. That will also free me up to work with Mrs. Schmitz and she has a wealth of knowledge as well. I have all the respect in the world for her. It will be a good transition for me as well, building relationships next year at the High School,” Schwarz shares.
Schwarz’s first year as the High School Principal will be the 2021-2022 school year.
