James F. Wayne,77, of North Henderson, IL passed away at 4:42 pm, Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the Richard Owens Hospice Home, Peoria IL.

Jim was born September 18, 1943 in Davenport, IA the son of James G. and Roselyn M. (Carlson) Wayne.  He was raised and educated in Alexis, IL attending Alexis Grad Schools and he later attended Roosevelt Military Academy in Aledo, IL.

Jim married Bonnie D. Brown on June 21, 1975 in Alexis, IL and she survives.

He served 32 years in law enforcement become the Chief of Police in Alexis, and Woodhull.  He was a laborer with Laborers Local Union #309 in Rock Island.  He served as a Trustee for the Retirees Local #309.  He was the first EMT in Alexis.  He also served as a volunteer fireman in Post Falls, ID.  He was an active ham radio operator with the call number, KB90ZY.

He attended the Presbyterian Church in Alexis, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Wayne of North Henderson, IL; 2 children, Anthony “Tony” Wayne of North Henderson and Angela Wayne of Orion, IL; 3 grandchildren, Lydia Wayne, Alivia Taets, and Lia Taets; 1 sister, Debbie Wernick of Camanche, IL; and 2 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, John Wayne.Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Memorials may be given to the James F. Wayne Memorial Fund. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and requirements, all attendees are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
