Knox County Sheriff’s Dept. Respond to Accident Involving Two Drowning Victims

At approximately 1:27pm on Saturday, September 19, 2020, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department responded to a lake at 2100 Illinois Route 180, Williamsfield, for an accident involving two drowning victims. This lake is governed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

William J. Self, 40 years of age, Toulon, IL, and Lawrence R. Self, 26 years of age, Toulon, IL, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary autopsy report does not indicate any evidence of foul play.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Williamsfield Fire, and Victoria Fire Department in the investigation and recovery.
