After a two week winter break for the United School District, students will have two full weeks of remote learning before returning to their four day in-person learning platform. Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt explains the board’s decision:
“We did decide we are going to go full remote for the two weeks coming out of the winter break. From January 4th through the 15th, will be full remote and the Tuesday after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we will come back with our four day week just like we are doing right now. We will start back the way we have been and will keep monitoring the situation. We did set some dates throughout the second semester, some target dates. We set up some institute days in some places like that so if we do want to make a change, there is kind of a natural break for it and a place to do that.”
United’s last school day before begging winter break is this Friday, December 18th.
