‘Read, Renew, Repeat’ is the theme of this summer’s reading program with the Warren County Public Library, focusing on conservation, protecting species from extinction, restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystems, and protecting biological diversity. Youth Services Librarian Mindy Newberry states this summer will be full of performances, story times, and crafts:

“We are bringing Friday movies back, so every Friday there will be a different movie. Our theme this summer is ‘Read, Renew, Repeat,’ so everything is involved around animal habitats and recycling and just being Earth conscience. We are also focusing a little about agriculture and how important agriculture is to the community and to the environment. We have some great programs coming. I love to do an author of the month each month and so June is Rick Riordan, who wrote Percy Jackson and then J.K. Rowling, who wrote Harry Potter for July. At the end of June, on the last Friday of the month, we are having a Percy Jackson day. In July on the last Friday, that will be a Harry Potter movie, Sorcerer of Stone, and then we will have a huge Harry Potter party.”

Registration opens May 20th. For a complete calendar of events for the Summer Reading Program, visit wcplibrary.org.
