KCAP President Springer Says Time to Apply for Back to Business Grant is Now

Share

Last month, the State of Illinois launched the broad-based grant program Back to Business, which is aimed to provide small businesses hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic with a recovery grant from the federal American Recovery Plan Act. Knox County Area Partnership President Ken Springer informs businesses in Abingdon, Galesburg, and Monmouth get priority:

“This program is open to almost any business that suffered losses in 2020 and was also operating in 2019. The program can provide grants to those businesses from between $5,000 and $150,000. It is really important to note is that businesses that are located in Monmouth, Galesburg, and Abingdon get special priority in this program just simply based on their geography. So if you have not applied yet, I am encouraging everybody to get this done and get it done this week. You only need five documents in order to apply; two tax returns, two bank statements, and a driver’s license.”

Springer says the application is all online and takes 30 minutes to complete. For those that have yet to apply, the application can be found here, Small Business Assistance (illinois.gov)
