Debra L. “Deb” Carlson, age 64, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 5:00 pm on Wednesday September 29, 2021 at her Oquawka residence. Debra was born on October 20, 1956 in Burlington, Iowa and is the daughter of Jack and Glenda Lane Lox. She was raised in Oquawka where she attended local schools and graduated from Union High School with the class of 1974. ” Deb ” married Clyde R. Carlson on February 10, 1972 at the courthouse in Chase County, Nebraska. Deb is a Domestic Engineer and stay at home Mom for her husband and family. She is an avid reader and loved to read historical novels. She was always attentative to her Husband, children, and grandchildren and their activities. She is a member of the Morman Church. Surviving her is her husband, Clyde R. Carlson of Oquawka, Illinois, and three daughters, Dana Bromly and Clint of Encampment, Wyoming; Jackie Dowell of West Branch, Iowa; and Mindy Wagner and Bradley of St. Louis, Missouri. Her son, Roger Carlson and Alisa of Seattle, Washington, and nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren also are surviving. Two sisters survive, Patty Allen and Larry and Donna Klick and Ken both of Keithsburg, Illinois. One brother is surviving, Jim Lox and Amy of Oquawka, Illinois. Her niece survives, Amanda Troyer of Oquawka, Illinois.  She is preceded in her death by her parents, Jack and Glenda, and her Aunts and Uncles. 

As were her wishes, cremation is to be accorded.  A celebration of her life is going to be planned in the late spring months when it is warm. Memorial funds have been established for either the Burlington Cancer Center or for ” Hair Hats and More” in Burlington, Iowa.   Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka is in charge of her care.
