April is organ and tissue donation awareness month, shares OSF St. Mary and Holy Family Medical Center President Lisa DeKezel:

“At OSF Holy Family we hosted a flag raising ceremony the first week in April that included a blessing and a story from both a heart recipient and a donor’s family. Always a very touching and moving ceremony that keeps us centered on the importance of organ and tissue donation. The Gift of Hope flag will fly all month in honor of organ and tissue donations.”

Additionally, President DeKezel informs a wound care clinic will be opening on the OSF Holy Family Medical Center campus in Monmouth in partnership with Healogix.
