Joyce N. Arteaga, 86, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 4:52 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born on March 10, 1936 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Ivan and Gladys (Crandall) Conn.  Joyce was raised and educated in Monnouth and attended Monmouth High School. 

Joyce married Jack Doyle on February 17, 1952 in Monmouth, IL; he preceded her in death in 1986.  She later married Trinidad Arteaga on August 5, 1989 in Monmouth, IL; he survives. 

 Joyce worked for many years at the Hallmark Store in Monmouth and also at Vaughn Jewelers in Monmouth.  She enjoyed her flower gardens, dancing, taking care of rescue cats, and her basset hounds.  Joyce was a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth and enjoyed going on mission trips with her husband, Trinny.  She loved sitting on her deck watching the hummingbirds and having a cup of coffee.  Joyce was an avid local sports fan and attended High School games often. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.   

Surviving Joyce is her husband, Trinidad Arteaga of Monmouth, IL; her children, Michael L. (Tracey) Doyle of Palmdale, CA, Joyce LuAnn (John) Kelker of Springfield, IL, Danny J. (Gretchen) Doyle of Burlington, IA, Nancy C. (Kirk) Johnson of Camdenton, MO, Josh (Gina) Arteaga of Fremont, CA; her grandchildren, Jayme (Matt) Phillips of Decatur, IL, Ryan (Emily) Pate of Rochester, IL, Robert (Becky) Pate of Decatur, IL, Chad Doyle of Acton, CA, Annie (Josh) Scalf of Wilmington, NC, Matthew Navarrette of Davis, CA, Zachary Doyle of Palmdale, CA, Christopher Doyle of Palmdale, CA, Jessica Johnson of Crescent, OK, Molly Mayer of Oquawka, IL, Dustin Johnson of Crescent, OK, Ben Doyle of Stronghurst, IL, Allyson (Nick) White of Raritan, IL, Noah Doyle of Burlington, IA,  Sal Arteaga of Freemont, CA, and Angelo Arteaga of Freemont, CA; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Jack Doyle; her brother, Richard Conn; and her sister, Evelyn Zefo.    A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be an hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
