McDonough County Sheriff Petitgout Re-Elected

Share

Incumbent Nicholas Petitgout will remain as McDonough County Sheriff. Sheriff Petitgout has served the community for four and a half years as Sheriff and says his main goal is continuing to solve crimes:

“Most importantly solving crime. That is something that I am very proud of here in McDonough County and I think the citizens are very appreciative of. We are looking forward to continuing to solve crime, hiring good people. Obviously we need to navigate the SAFE-T Act and figure out where that is going to land on us and all the responsibilities we are going to have here come January 1st, but most importantly solving crime, keeping people happy here in McDonough County, and proving that good quality rural law enforcement.”

Sheriff Petitgout received 69 percent of the votes and defeated Independent candidate Mark Clark.
