Tammy Lynn Dickenson, 61, of Smithshire, IL, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth, IL. She was born February 11, 1962 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Lou (Carlson) Ward. She was raised and educated in West Burlington before moving to Tennessee and finishing her schooling there.

Those left to cherish her memory are; her father, Raymond (Betty) Ward of Burlington, IA; mother, Mary Lou Carlson of Burlington, IA; significant other, Dennis Gibb of Smithshire; mother-in-law, Leona Gibb of Smithshire; daughters, Tabetha (Michael) Thompson-George of Florence, AL, Jenniffer (Gary) Thompson Gallo of Millington, TN; son, Andy (Holly) Thompson of Waynesboro, TN; step-children, Chase Gibb of Burlington, IA, Athena Gibb of Middletown, IA, Cassandra (John Eberhardt) Gibb of Burlington, IA, Adam (Jen Painter) Roller of Alexis, IL ; 18 grandchildren; half-siblings, Robert Ward, Don Wallingford, Richard Schmidt, Bobby Schmidt, Michael Ward; step-siblings, Michelle Parton, Chris Cline, Heather Cline, Roger Scott, David Scott, Bradley Scott and Chad Scott. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Her beloved dog Foxy and cat Troubles.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, her sister Tina Ward and several aunts and uncles.

Tammy was an avid crafter. She could make just about anything; wreaths, painted jars, wood burned signs, birdhouses, 3-D boxes and jewelry just to name a few. She enjoyed flower arranging and drinking coffee. She was a lover of all animals and loved watching them in nature. She was the director of the Burlington Homeless shelter for several years.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Ellison Cemetery, Smithshire. Memorials may be made to Tammy’s headstone memorial fund and left in the care of the funeral home. Wise Family Funeral Home-Roseville is handling the arrangements.
