Three new providers have joined the OSF HealthCare staff, Dr. Samuel Vazquez in General Surgery, Dr. Adamma Muodeme in Family Medicine and Obstetrics, and Dr. Amro Elsharoud also in Family Medicine and Obstetrics. While recruitment in any industry can be challenging, President and CEO Lisa DeKezel says the sense of community and model of care helps draw in providers locally:

“What we have really found in the key to that is once we identify the candidates that have that same love and passion for caring for rural communities and really want that relational medicine; the experience of having relationships with their community, knowing their community, working with a family oriented environment within the organizations, it is the culture they are looking for, it is the sense of community. Also, it is the model of care, developing those networks of care across rural communities, where we hire into our regional hubs.”

DeKezel informs in the community model of care in obstetrics services, OSF HealthCare delivers 700 babies a year.
