Edward “Eddy” L. Purchase, age 45, of Kirkwood, Illinois, passed away at 8:28 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois. He was born January 30, 1978 in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Henry L. and Mary J. (Guenther) Purchase. Eddy was raised and educated in Plano, Texas. On August 20, 2022, Eddy married Jaime Wendt at the South Henderson Church in Gladstone, Illinois.

Eddy had worked at Husband Trucking INC. and Fed Ex as a driver. Eddy was the co-owner/operator of E and Jay Purchase Trucking, LLC. He enjoyed dirt track racing, buying good “junk” vehicles, including a fire truck, auctions, and watching the news on television. Mostly, Eddy loved being with his family and many friends.

Eddy is survived by his wife Jaime of Kirkwood, Illinois, his mother Mary Morris, his step-father who raised him, Robert Kevin Morris and his step-mother Nancy Purchase, three sisters; Ashley (Bri) Purchase, Jillian (Cory) Reffett, and Abigail Purchase, brother-in-law, Bryant (Amy) Thickstun, life long friends Shawn Miller, Matt Morris and Mike York AKA Stumpy. Eddy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and several close friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father, brother, Jeff Purchase and his beloved dog Katie.

As were Eddy’s wishes, cremation is to be accorded. A Celebration of Life is planned for 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Mama’s Place, Oquawka, Illinois.
