Frank H. Folden, age 91, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 4:20 am on Tuesday February 20, 2024 at the Southeastern Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House in Burlington, Iowa. Frank was born on August 11, 1932 in Willington, Colorado and is the son of Robert W. and Ethel P. Jones Folden. Frank was raised in Tacoma, Washington where he attended local schools and a Tacoma high school. After completing his General Education Degree he later attended Pierce County Technical School for machinery. After his schooling he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He then entered the United States Air Force, where he served twenty-four years fueling defensive missiles in their silos in Arkansas as his career. From this he was honorably discharged from the military as a Master Sargent. Frank married Sandy R. Gilman on December 30, 2008 in Monmouth, Illinois and she is surviving him living in Monmouth. Upon his return to Monmouth, Frank has driven a transport van for Warren Achievement in Monmouth, and has also assisted Harry Radmacher in plumbing locally. Frank has received a quilt of honor locally and has gone on the Washington DC Honor Flight. Frank loved to garden and loved tomatoes. He loved to knit, did some wood working, and loved to cook. Sandy and he also loved to travel and have gone to Hawaii several times where they had renewed their vows. Frank is survived by his wife, Sandy Folden of Monmouth, Illinois, and a daughter Crystal Vanskike and Brian of Monmouth, IL, and grandson, Curtis Blackman of Monmouth, Illinois. Also surviving is one nephew Robert Folden and Linda of Greenville, Texas and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in his death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers. 

A memorial service and Military Honors for Frank is planned on Thursday February 29, 2024 at Turnbull Funeral Home of Monmouth, at 2:00 pm. Frank is to be cremated and disposition of his ashes will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals.
