Currently serving 20 percent of Warren County residents, Jamieson Community Center continues to see record number of visits and utilization of services, shares Executive Director Nancy Mowen:
“Our food pantry visits, like all food pantries, are at record highs. We served 91 percent more people in 2023 than we did in 2022 and more than 2,000 people, ate food from our pantries in the last five months, those are unique individuals. We are glad they are coming to us because the ability for people to have access to food to support a healthy, active lifestyle. It impacts our physical health, social-emotional health, our ability to focus on the task at hand, attendance at work or school, and long-term it has a definite, research based, impact on your health in the future.”
On Saturday, March 2nd Jamieson Community Center is teaming up with Abner’s in Downtown Monmouth to host a ‘Tip for a Cause’ fundraising event beginning at 6 pm with guest bartenders Robin Scanlan, Kathleen Lee, Lana Stewart, Rachel and Jared Kunkle, Chris and Kassie Wollbrink, and Michelle Reyburn.
