West Harlem Avenue Street Reconstruction Will See Sidewalks and On Demand Crosswalk Light

Share

As construction continues on West Harlem Avenue, Monmouth City Council has approved an engineering agreement with IMEG for completion of the street reconstruction, reports Mayor Rod Davies:

“They met with all the businesses along that stretch from North Main Street to just beyond G Street. They will be putting sidewalks on both sides of the street, it will be a concrete road, it will have curb and gutter and storm sewer service there, and we will also have an on demand crosswalk light at the YMCA and the pool to replace the stop sign. They did have to work with each one of the businesses because there will be quite a bit of changes in the way the entrance size driveways now can only be so many feet wide.”

Due to the amount and type of traffic the utilizes West Harlem Avenue, Communications Director Ken Helms informs the project qualifies for federal monies, which brings certain regulations and changes into factor during improvements.
