Warren County Courthouse Interior Repairs Moving Forward

Share

At the June Warren County Board meeting, two projects regarding interior repairs at the Courthouse were approved, informs Chairman Mike Pearson:

“We did approve two different projects. One was drafting the guidelines and the specs for repairs to the third-floor floor to have that repaired. It is sagging. Then the other was to have the Courthouse scanned so that we can actually see what our structure looks like and give us a baseline for things.”

To accommodate the repairs inside the Warren County Courthouse, according to Buildings and Grounds Committee Chair Sean Cavanaugh, there will be a temporary relocation of the jury room and Elections Office:

“The court system, they are looking for a new location, just because the jury room is at the center of the sagging. We were advised not to use that room. Some of the judges are still pondering what avenue they wish to take. They have a very large consideration in what happens and they have been looking at several options. Also, the Elections Office, since they will be working right above their heads, they are going to be relocated as well.”

The scan analysis of the Warren County Courthouse will take place July 6th and 7th.
