IL Approves Nasal Spray For Fentanyl Overdoses

Share

Law enforcement agencies across Illinois are using a nasal spray to counter the effects of fentanyl overdoses.  This began after the FDA approved the spray last May.  Illinois is one of 19 states where it’s available through standing orders.  That allows teachers and first responders to use the nasal spray if a student is experiencing an overdose.  East Moline Police say they’ve seen instances where a patient is completely unresponsive before the spray is administered.
