Roger W. “Rog” Higbee, age 70, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away at 11:05 AM on Monday, March 25, 2024 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1954 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Richard Martin and Marge (Zimmerman) Higbee. Roger attended schools locally and graduated from Warren High School with the Class of 1972. On July 7, 2006, he married Julie A. Tubbs in Davenport, Iowa and she survives. Roger was previously married to Debra Laughead.

Roger worked with Ron Murdock providing custom harvest in the area. From 1979-1984, Roger worked for the Warren County Sheriffs Department as a deputy. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and waterfowl enthusiast. Roger loved his dogs, especially Amy and Benelli. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association and Duck’s Unlimited.

Roger is survived by his wife Julie Tubbs Higbee of Davenport, IA, one daughter, Karen (Sean) Callahan of Pensacola, FL, two sons, Anthony Higbee and Jesse Cody Higbee, both of Nashville, TN, four sisters, Jean (Dwight) Higbee-Armstrong of Rockton, IL, Jan (Bill) Higbee-Lawrence of Normal, IL, and Amelia Lesley and Verna Davenport of Tama, IA, and one brother, Jonathon (Suzanne) Buffalo of Tama, IA. Also surviving his are one grandson, Cody Jacob Callahan and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Jolene Higbee, and one brother, Gary Higbee.

A funeral service for Roger Higbee is planned for 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the Cameron Christian Church in Cameron, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 AM prior to the service at the Church. Interment will follow at Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois. Memorials may be left for Cameron Christian Church.
