Peoria Ranks Among Top Places to Live in IL

A leading travel magazine has ranked Peoria among the top ten best places to live in Illinois. Travel and Leisure magazine placed Peoria seventh on its list, just ahead of Rockford, Moline and Chicago. The magazine listed Peoria’s affordability for its ranking, with median homes priced at 114-thousand-500 dollars — more than 200-thousand below the national average. The magazine also listed Peoria’s park system and the two colleges that are based in Peoria — Bradley University and the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria — as other factors in its ranking.
