When farmers are effectively using conservation practices, they aren’t only helping improve their soil health, but the environment around them. Precision Conservation Management is a free-to-join farmer service program that helps farmers adopt and grow conservation on their farms. Lou Liva, Northwest Region PCM Specialist says that through a partnership with PepsiCo, PCM farmers are able to take part in carbon programs for practices they have already implemented.

“So are you already no-tilling? Great Pepsi has $5 an acre available for you. Do you want to transition no-till?  A larger payment is available. Farmers can make up to $35 depending on their practices. It’s a year-to-year commitment,” says Lisa. “And we take data privacy very seriously. So no one’s getting your data.”

The PepsiCo cost share program is available for PCM farmers in Mercer, Knox, Henry, and Rock Island.
