Mrs. Jeannie D. Palmer, 75, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:48 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Galesburg.

She was born April 5, 1949, in Muscatine, Iowa to Homer L. and Deloris (Moore) Phillips. 

Surviving is a son, Lee Bryan Smith of Galesburg, a daughter, Dee Dee (and Jeff) Knuth of Galesburg, a brother, James Phillips of Montana, a sister, JoAnn (and Brad) Stribling of Coal Valley, Illinois, five grandchildren, Tyler (and Amber Edwards) Wintheiser, Jacob (and Taylor) Wintheiser, Hailey (and Clayton Clay) Swanson, Matt Genisio, and Dustin Smith, and ten great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Phillips. 

Jeannie graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois in 1967.  Jeannie worked for Matag Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 30 years and retired in September of 2004.  She continued her education and graduated from Black Hawk Community College in 2006.  She was creative and loved to paint China and other porcelain pieces.  She enjoyed music, dancing and watching crime shows. 

As Jeannie requested, cremation will be accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be on her birthday, April 5, 2025, with the time and place announced at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
