Monmouth College Readies for Midwest Conference Championship Volleyball Tournament

Heading into their final match of the regular season on Saturday at Grinnell College, the Monmouth College volleyball team had already clinched a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament but was looking to build some momentum heading into this weekend’s 4-school championship tournament. The Scots gave it all they had before falling in five, super-close sets to end the regular season in 3rd place in the conference standings at (6-2) in the Midwest Conference and (19-10) overall.

Monmouth will have a rematch against Grinnell in the 2-3 seed match in the semifinals. It will be the first semifinal of the day on Friday. Here’s Monmouth College SID Nathan Baliva with the tournament details.

Again, the host will be regular season champion, Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. The championship match will be played at 1:00 on Saturday afternoon. You can watch the tournament by going to Cornell College’s athletic website, cornellrams.com
