Beverly J. Earp, age 91, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at her residence on Friday January 10, 2025 at 11:39 am. Beverly was born on July 19, 1933 in Buffalo, Missouri and is the daughter of Vernon and Mabel Clevenger Gott. Beverly attended Henderson County Schools and graduated from Little York High School with the class of 1951. She married Weldon Oliver Earp on April 22, 1951 in Belville, Illinois and he preceded her on November 4, 2008. Beverly began work as a waitress at ” Park & Eat ” restaurant in Monmouth, but for the majority of her days, has been a ” farm wife ” assisting her husband on their farm north of Monmouth. He and she owned and operated Dun-Rovid Eggery on Highway 67 for thirty years, from 1961 to 1991. Beverly also served on the Illinois Egg Board for ten years and is the first woman in the State of Illinois to have an Applicators License. Her husband, her family, their farm and business’ were all that she was about. She is a member and been active as a long time member of the Gerlaw Christian Church and a part of C.Y.F. (Christian Youth Fellowship) at her church. She also has volunteered and been active in Future Farmers of America and the affairs at Warren School.
Beverly is survived by her four sons, Terry Earp who is in the Philippines, Ronald Earp of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Jeffrey Earp and Douglas Earp, both in Monmouth, Illinois. There are five grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren who survive her. Beverly has two twin sisters surviving, Karen and Sharon. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband Weldon, two brothers, Wayne and Roger, and her sister, Pauline.
A funeral service for Beverly Earp is planned on Saturday January 18, 2025 at 10:30 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Her family plans visitation and will receive their friends from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will then be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Funds have been established for either the Gerlaw Christian Church or Alexis North Henderson Ambulance.
