Mabelann “Ann” Randall, 90, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at 3:11 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Galesburg.

She was born July 25, 1935, in Denver, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Aileen (Johnson) Altheide. She married Robert M. “Bob” Randall on October 17, 1953, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2017, after more than 64 years of marriage.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Kenneth) Hendon and Jeani (Mark) Talbott, both of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Josh (Katie) Hendon, Jacob (Ashley) Hendon, Connor Talbott, and Lauren Talbott; four great grandchildren, Adalyn and Nora Ann Hendon and Brynn and Brayden Hendon; a sister, Paula (Ivan) Ray of Henderson, Nevada; a brother, Phil (Donna) Altheide of Gerlaw, and many nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Mae Mae. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jerry Altheide, Carroll Fred Altheide, and Darla Nelson.

Ann worked as a secretary for Burlington Truck Lines for 23 years. She was proud of her Teamster Membership there. In 1980, she became the first woman to join the Hinchliff-Pearson-West family. She began as a secretary and retired after 22 years as a pre-planning consultant. Even in retirement, she regarded HPW as family and maintained friendships there. Ann’s warmth and grace led to her success in her career. Ann was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, WIN, and Altrusa Club.

Ann will be remembered as a people person. She always had an ear to lend or a word of encouragement to offer. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and people watching on her front porch. Ann enjoyed reading, walking, and bicycling. Family was most important to her. In addition to spending time together at holidays and birthdays, she regularly attended her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Cremation will be accorded after the funeral. Ann and Bob will be laid to rest together in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Knox County Humane Society. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
