It is with great sadness that the family of Glen D. Glas, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois announces he passed away at 7:16 pm Sunday, March 16, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

Glen was born October 1, 1942, in Galesburg, the son of Anthony and Betty (Foster) Glas. He married his best friend, Sherry Rae Ledbetter on November 30, 1963, in Galesburg. After 52 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on November 16, 2015.

He will be lovingly missed by his son, Sean T. Glas of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Kole Kenan, Jacob Johnson-Glas and Maddie Kenan; three great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Larry Stinson and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special cousin, Sue Colvin who was like a sister to Glen, and two nieces, Jennifer and Kim. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sherry, his daughter, Toni Rae Kenan, his brother, Ted Glas, sister, Sandy Stinson and his nephew Tim Glas.

Glen graduated from Galesburg High School and was later drafted to the US Army during Vietnam War. Upon his return to the area, Glen attended Black Hawk College, receiving a degree in accounting. He worked as the accountant for Water Works for eight years and retired as the accountant for Glas Accounting in Florida.

Glen was a member of the First Christian Church in Galesburg. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and often could be found playing a round of golf. Glen was a member of the Jack Russell Terrier club and any other clubs focusing on Jack Russell Terriers.

Military Honors will be presented by the Knox County Honor Guard at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 29, 2025, outside of the First Christian Church with a Memorial Service to follow in the church with Rev. MJ Fitch officiating. The burial will be held at a later date in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting Glen’s family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
