It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Nora L. Harding at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, Illinois.

She was born November 7, 1928, in Bernadotte, Illinois to Eward and Laura (McDermet) Wells.  She married Everett C. Harding on June 6, 1954, in Princeton, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on May 11, 1991.

She loved the Lord and was a woman of faith all her life.  She was an active and faithful member of Cameron Christian Church.

Left to cherish her legacy are her children, Wanda Atwell, Larry (and Jean) Harding Sandra Stacker, and Joyce Adwell, a sister, Verna Dinwiddie, the blessings of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Her blessed life of 96 years has gained her eternal peace and a heavenly reunion with her parents, husband, Everett Harding, three sons-in-law, Dary Stacker, Gale Adwell, and Bill Atwell, grandson, Jasen Adwell, and ten siblings.

Nora worked for Matag Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 23 years and retired on February 2, 1990.  She was well known for her beautiful, decorated cakes.  She had a passion for growing flowers and maintaining her lawn.  Her talent for crocheting produced stunning doilies and craft items often given for gifts.  She enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, making cookies and candies, and cooking family dinners.

The family would like to thank Monmouth Nursing Home and Hospice Compassus for their care given to our mother.

Nora’s love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.  Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends for generations to come.

A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel.  Rev. Jeff Nielsen will officiate.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the Cameron Christian Church.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
