Sandburg will host a grand reopening for its newly renovated Student Center from 4-6 p.m. April 10 on its Galesburg campus.

ABOUT THE STUDENT CENTER

  • Renovations began in May 2024.
  • Reopened March 17.
  • Designed by: Farnsworth Group of Peoria.
  • General contractor: River City Construction of East Peoria.
  • Brings essential student services to a central location, including:
    • Admissions
    • Academic advising
    • Financial aid
    • Tutoring and accessibility support
    • Career counseling
    • Student leadership development
  • Also includes:
  • Latest part of an updated campus master plan for improvements and developments at Sandburg.
    • $27 million Science & Technology Center opened for the start of the current academic year and marked the most impactful project on the Galesburg campus since its primary construction in 1969
    • The next expected building project is the Charger Center, an athletic and conference center that will expand the athletics capabilities of the campus and allow Sandburg to host community events of a grand scale.
