Secretary Rollins Leads Trade Delegation to United Kingdom

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins will visit the United Kingdom May 12-14. This comes after President Donald J. Trump announced last week, on the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, the U.S.-UK Economic Prosperity Deal that will lower tariffs, remove trade barriers, increase market access, and strengthen cooperation on economic security.

Monday, May 12th

  • Secretary Rollins meets with U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Warren Stephens.
  • Secretary Rollins hosts a U.S. agriculture industry roundtable to discuss ways for USDA to support agricultural exports to the UK through trade promotion programs.
  • Secretary Rollins visits Parliament for a meeting with the Rt Hon Steve Reed, Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Tuesday, May 13th

  • Secretary Rollins hosts UK industry roundtable and media availability.

WHAT: Secretary Rollins will host a closed press roundtable with key representatives of the UK agricultural supply chain. Following the closed press discussion, Secretary Rollins will hold a media availability.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 13th, 10:00am BST.

                Media setup begins at 9:30am BST.

  • Secretary Rollins visits Wanis Limited to explore how the UK wholesale market promotes U.S. rice products.
  • Secretary Rollins visits Tilda Rice Milling Ltd, a milling and packaging facility, to see U.S. rice being packed for the UK wholesale market.  
  • Secretary Rollins visits the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to meet with Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State Michael Shanks.

Wednesday, May 14th

  • Secretary Rollins visits Whole Foods to hear from a retail importer of U.S. agricultural products and discuss opportunities for growth.  
  • Secretary Rollins holds a media availability after her visit to Whole Foods.

WHAT: Secretary Rollins will hold a media availability after her closed press visit to Whole Foods.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 14th, 9:40am BST.

                Media setup begins at 9:00am BST.
