Mrs. Carol M. Smith, 89, of Abingdon, Illinois died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born March 21, 1936, in Lakenan, Missouri to Paul and Mabel (Grubb) Reynolds. She married Guy Elza Smith in Louisianna, Missouri, on September 16, 1952, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (and Dan) Hufeld of Springfield, Missouri; Deborah (and Ross) Davis of Abingdon; and Susan (and Ronald) Radeke of Abingdon; a sister, Ellen Kipley of Quincy, Illinois; five grandchildren, Kelly (and Tony) Price, Angela (and Clayton) Matteson, Denise (and Tommy) Gibbons, Kristy (and Gary) Lorenzen, and Jenna Price, eight great grandchildren, Maddy Gibbons, Blaine Gibbons, Alex Corbin, Christian Corbin, Trevor Matteson, Clara Matteson, Jamir Price and Jasir Price; six step children, Jean Micklewright, Shirley Henel, Guy Smith, Sherry Leahy, Donna Caldwell and Woody Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Paul Elza Smith, four brothers, Morris Reynolds, Norman Reynolds, Neil Reynolds and infant brother, Harvey Reynolds, and a sister, Beverly Guthrie.
Carol was a homemaker. She loved cooking, baking, and sewing. Her kids and grandkids were the most important to her.
