Mrs. Caroline S. Anderson, 78, of Galesburg, died at 5:38 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Seminary Manor.

She was born on March 29, 1947, in Kewanee, the daughter of Vivian F. and Vernice (Janssen) Hurlbutt. She married Larry L. Anderson on June 11, 1971, in Altona. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Ned) Goodwin of Monmouth and Karry (John Bates) Richardson of Ponder, Texas; and a son, Gerald Prather of Galesburg. She also leaves behind her sister, Patty Lou (Terry) Scott of East Moline, six grandchildren, Jeff, Josh, Andrea, Robert, Paige, and Max; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joannie King; and one sister, Crystal Ann Hurlbutt.

Caroline graduated from Galva High School. She was mainly a homemaker, but at times worked at places such as Watkins, Rosewood Care Center, and Quick Stop. Caroline was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was active with the Amvets when Larry was living. Caroline enjoyed crafting and she was a great cook.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Service of Galesburg. Funeral Services will follow at noon with Rev. Karna Peterson officiating. Burial will be with Larry at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in Caroline’s memory may be made to the family to benefit Gerald.
