Mr. James Donald “Jamie” Kimbrough, Jr., 67, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Knox County Nursing Home.
Born and raised in Galesburg on January 22, 1958, the son of James Sr. and Nancy (Ewing) Kimbrough. Jamie graduated from Galesburg High School in 1977. He married Vicky Jones on August 27, 1983. They later divorced.
He is survived by his children, Jamie D. (and Ella) Kimbrough of Oklahoma, Jeaniece Kimbrough and Jammie Kimbrough both of Galesburg; grandchildren, Jamie Kimbrough., Ja’mya Kimbrough, Niell Roberts, Jammonie Leonard, Jashaun Kimbrough, Jamauri Kimbrough, Jairell Kimbrough, Janaria Kimbrough, Nevaeh Orozco and Skii Barton; and his sister, Harriett Thomas of Rock Island, Illinois; He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lawrence “Mickey” Kimbrough and his sister, Carla Williams.
Jamie worked for several area manufacturing companies. He was of the Baptist faith. Jamie enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also liked to sing, dance and making chili. He loved his kids and was a family man. He served in the National Guard.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Evangelist Terryl Gordon officiating. Cremation will be accorded after service. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Foundation.
