The Warren County Board unanimously selected River City Construction out of East Peoria as the builder for the new jail. Board Chairman Mike Pearson informs River City was selected out of three submitted bids:

“We had three different companies in the bid process make I through Phase 1. We have selected one and we voted to accept the proposal from River City to be the builder of our jail. They will be starting next spring. That is a major hurdle because that starts a lot in the processes, basically we can do a lot of fine tuning and negotiations on what we actually end up with because it is just a draft today. Then there will be contract negotiations and that also brings us to the bonding, selling of the bonds, this winter actually, to be able to finance the project. Lots of things will move forward now that we have established a company.”
